Stop Myopia Progression

Ortho-K is an FDA-approved non-invasive procedure in which overnight custom contact lenses reshape your cornea.

For Adults

Q. Would you like the freedom of seeing clearly without glasses or contacts, or surgery?

A. Orthokeratology is a perfect and healthy choice for you.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is ideal for both adults and children, nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatic patients, as well as those over 40 who find they need help for everyday reading (presbyopia) but don’t want to wear reading glasses. Studies show that Ortho-K lenses can stop the progression of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism in adults.

It’s also a great choice for adults who need vision correction – without the worries of caring for contact lenses or glasses during work, playing sports or at the gym.

Ortho-K is a perfect choice for any adult who is active during the day and doesn’t want to deal with contact lenses or glasses.

Many professions (law enforcement, pilots, etc.) have mandatory, unaided vision requirements that can often be met by using Ortho-K to restore clear vision without glasses, contacts, or surgery. Ortho-K is a safe, non-surgical, and reversible alternative to Lasik.

For Children

Q. Is your child nearsighted, farsighted, or astigmatic?

A. Orthokeratology is a healthy solution for both stopping as well as reversing the deterioration of your child’s eyesight. Best of all, they’ll see clearly and not need to wear glasses or contact lenses during the day.

Orthokeratology is the use of custom-made contact lenses to reshape the cornea and has a significant effect in stopping the progression of nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism in children. It’s also a great choice for children who need vision correction – without the hassles of caring for contact lenses or glasses during school, at sport or other daytime activities.

Under the Orthokeratology treatment, the child wears customized contact lenses while sleeping and removes them upon waking. Over a short period of time, the Ortho-K lenses act to reshape the surface of the cornea much like the way dental retainers straighten the teeth. Especially in children and teens, Ortho-K can control and eliminate the progression of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, both correcting, restoring and maintaining clear and crisp vision without contact lenses or glasses.

According to a research review in the March 2016 issue of Optometry and Vision Science, official journal of the American Academy of Optometry, childhood myopia has increased to epidemic proportions in recent years. Myopia persists into adulthood and, in the more severe cases, can lead to eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal detachments.
